The current pandemic effecting the world is a tragedy and in order to not only comply with Presidential and state directives we are implementing the following changes to our deliveries.
To protect the health of our clients as well as our volunteers we will be practicing the social distancing that has been suggested. The average age of our volunteers is probably not much less than that of our clients. For now, we are asking anyone with symptoms of a cold/flu/virus or anyone that has contact with someone exhibiting those symptoms to please not come to MOW of Greenup. If you are on the delivery schedule those will still be made and but we ask that you contact us so we can take precautions when delivering. We typically have the same 4 people in the building prepping meals and doing office work each day. Adding 5 drivers in and out (who will be about 6 foot away) we are still less than 10.
We will be implementing an indirect hand off of the meal by utilizing coolers on porches. This is not always possible as some clients are wheelchair bound or bedridden. In those cases we will try to take the meal inside but practice distancing. We are asking clients and drivers to utilize hand washing and use of sanitizer per CDC guidelines. As things change, we will adapt. Also, each day we are sending out extra cans of soup and sandwich items and other easily prepared foods in case we would have an unexpected delay of service.
We appreciate your patience in this difficult time and as always please stay safe and healthy.
